Life in America has become increasingly weird and if you’re not pissed then maybe it’s time to start paying attention. A gourd-colored, reality-TV star being an actual Presidenitial candidate is merely the pinnacle in a laundry list of maladies.
Choosing to not sit idly by, Prophets of Rage are hitting the boards and channeling their anger into an energy. Comprised of members collected from Rage Against the Machine (Tom Morello, Brad Wilk and Tim Commerford), Public Enemy (Chuck D) and Cypress Hill (B-Real), the band has reimagined their collective catalogs and are storm trooping across the country on the Make America Rage Again tour. They’ve been receiving an assist in the form of openers AWOLNATION and WAKRAT, but Saturday’s performance at Tinley Park’s Hollywood Casino Amphitheater clearly belonged to POR. IE’s Curt Baran bore witness to the musical carpet bombing.
