Patience is a virtue, and virtue untested is no virtue at all. If that’s indeed true, then Chicago Mudcrutch fans are some of the most virtuous people around. It only took the band 46 years to make their Chicago debut. If Mudcrutch doesn’t exactly sound like a household name, well, at least its lead singer should. It’s the band Tom Petty formed before he assembled his famed Heartbreakers. The band recently released their sophomore effort laboriously titled 2 and have hit the road which landed them at Uptown’s Riviera Theater. IE’s incredibly impatient (and therefore non-virtuous) Curt Baran took some shots of Petty’s boys. Opening act The Shelters helped make the wait less painful.
