IE and Dynasty Podcasts: North Coast or bust…
The North Coast Music Festival arrived on Labor Day weekend this year with its annual eclectic mix of hip hop, EDM, jam bands, and more (enjoyable) musical and human oddities. As they’ve done with previous fests, NCMF also showcased a variety of local talent, and IE’s Jaime de’Medici was onsite at this year’s fest interviewing a host of Chicago artists for his CVU podcast series on the Dynasty Podcasts Network.
Commencing with James and Paul Makelwain, aka: Milk N Cookies, the twin producers weighed in on the summer’s biggest (and most dubious) hits from Miley Cyrus, Robin Thicke, Zedd, and more. Then the crew from Porn & Chicken Dance Party discuss bringing their specialized brand of debauchery into other cities across the country. On An On‘s Nate Eiesland, Alissa Ricci, and Ryne Estwing discuss the process of rebanding and rebranding, following the 2012 break-up of their former band Scattered Trees. Local MC Psalm One checked-in with Jaime about her mentoring program, while JC Brooks & The Uptown Sound frontman (and June 2012 IE cover feature) JC Brooks discussed staying connected to his hometown Chicago as the group’s national profile rises.
