Fire burns music venue/eatery in Lockport hotel

Dreams Sports Bar & Eatery, which was located in the same building as the historic Towpath Inn (935 S. State, Lockport), burnt to the ground in a fire early Tuesday, April 1st. A man, believed to be a resident of the hotel, died in the blaze.

Owner Mike Panayiopides told an Illinois Entertainer employee “It’s gutted.” He said the damage is so severe he’s unable to forecast when Dreams could reopen. According to the Chicago Tribune, the fire started about 4 a.m. and took several neighboring fire departments to extinguish the blaze in the century-old structure.

Dreams, in business for nine years, was a combination concert hall, restaurant, and bar.
