Empty Bottle, Metro, Millennium Park — where haven’t Tortoise played? Sources say the post rock masters will knock another venue off the master list with a special performance Saturday, October 13th at Symphony Center.

Macy’s may have spat on Marshall Fields’ legacy, but have managed to lure Tortoise out of preparations for their sixth album for Macy’s Day Of Music, during which free tunes will waft from the Symphony from 2 to 10 p.m. Perhaps in honor of Halloween, Doug McCombs, John McEntire, Jeff Parker, John Herndon, and Dan Bitney will recreate F.W. Murnau’s classic score to Nosferatu. Tortoise begin at 8 p.m.
