Someone might want to tell DJ/producer Daedelus that myspace.com/daedelus is already spoken for, so he might want to make sure any mention of it is removed from his press materials.

Unless of course this Santa Monica musician moonlights as a muscular, black man who loves goth garb, claims to be guided by the “crow spirit,” strives to become the “predator” he is supposed to be, and likes pictures of dragons, werewolves, and Cory Feldman. Needless to say, something tells us the Web site – www.daedelusdarling.com, specializing in gay incest, gay dating, love spells, lonely lovers, etc. – his current record label, Mush Records, points online surfers to might be a mix up as well.

So the man is a mystery. A few things are known, though: He is a studio chemist who splices together modern day electronica and old-time arrangements; he has worked with MF Doom, Madlib, and High Priest to name a few; Mush is his current home, but he has also recorded for Plug Research, Alpha Pup, and Hefty. Need more? Lucky you, Daedelus’ crow spirit brings him to Chicago – his first time playing the city – this week for two shows. Thursday night he’ll perform live as part of a bill headlined by legendary Bronx DJ Afrika Bambaataa, and Friday he’ll spin a DJ set along with Derek Plaslaiko and Atomly; Plus Device will perform live.

  1. Hello IE readers!

I am one of the co-promoters involved with the promotion of both events (1/18 + 1/19) here in Chicago. We accidentally listed the wrong myspace URL when sending out press materials for Daedelus. For curious readers/listeners and Daedelus fans, please visit here:
    http://www.myspace.com/daedelusdarling

This is pretty much the only source for contacting Daedelus direct and finding out info about his great music. Daedelus is no longer maintaining the Daedelusdarling site, obviously.

    Apologies for the messy confusion!!
    Bests,
    -Ray Rodriguez
