50 Cent has a new beef. It’s not Nas, The Game, or Ja Rule, though. This time, it’s two pale indie rockers from Chicago.
Of course there’s a chance 50 will hear Nice Peter’s “50 Cent Is A Pussy” and appreciate it for what it is: hilarious. Somehow, we doubt it, though. After all, this is a guy extremely riled up at the thought of Oprah pandering to white women (check the demographics of your record buyers, 50) so imagine his reaction to Nice Peter vocalist/guitarist Pete Shukoff’s lyrics that claim 50 is “about as gangster as that chick from No Doubt,” that “he should have quit with the line about Bacardi,” and that, well, he’s a pussy.
The bullet-hole ridden rapper might not like the song, but it appears he is in the minority. The comedy rock duo (Shukoff, a musician armed with Improv Olympic training, is joined by drummer Kristen Regester) received 2,000 hits within two months of posting a live performance of the song on YouTube, where other Nice Peter tunes, like “Fuck Guitar Center” and “Smoke That Weed,” are also quite popular.
If they survive the attempts on their lives by G Unit, Nice Peter will be one of many, many bands Lumino magazine (an online publication focused on Chicagoland entertainment and nightlife) will roll out for their two-night Jingle Your Balls party. Friday’s show is headlined by NYCO and also includes Hey Champ, Antioch Secret Society, Johnny Rumble, and Dry White Toast. Nice Peter play Saturday night, which is headlined by Local H frontman Scott Lucas and also features performances by Musical Outfits, Stellar Road, Villains Of Verona, and Five Minutes In. Hey everyone,
This show should be great, and here’s a link for more info, and a ticket link: http://www.luminomagazine.com/mw/content/view/1494/25/
THIS IS GOING TO BE AN INCREDIBLE SHOW!!!
Writing a crappy song making fun of 50 Cent is such a lame attention-grabbing move. His song about Guitar Center is awful, too. Ugh.
