Kid Rock

| November 15, 2006

Normally, we would make jokes at the expense of anyone who blows 25,000 smackers on a Who autographed guitar. Friday, December 1st, though, we encourage it.

Park West will host the 18th annual Rock ‘N’ Roll Charity that night to benefit Rock For Kids, an organization that devotes time and money to working with homeless children throughout Chicagoland. Jam Productions and WXRT Radio sponsor the auction, which begins at 7 p.m. and costs $15 in advance or $20 the day of the event. If you want to scout possible competition before the bidding starts, you can also attend the Pre-Auction VIP Rock And Roll Bash at 6; tickets are $50.

The list of goodies up for grabs is overwhelming, including autographed (*everything* up for bidding is autographed) guitars from Black Sabbath and The Rolling Stones, posters from Weezer and Sufjan Stevens, and pics of Loretta Lynn and Ice Cube. A few other big names donating items to help Rock For Kids are The Chicago Bears, Grateful Dead, Cheap Trick, and Johnny Depp to name a few.

For more information, including a complete list of auction items, visit www.rockforkids.org.
