The Blakhiv
Any Way She Wants It
(Lucid)
Icelandic assailants The Blakhiv blast through five songs in little more than 10 minutes on their debut EP.
Channeling the likes of The Hives and Turbonegro, The Blakhiv know a single speed (faster) and little else. Their intentionally broken English (the MySpace page reads: “We am The Blakhiv from Iceland we love booze, American girls and all Rock and Rolling”) propels the alleged humor on Any Way She Wants It, particularly in the way “Love For You Tonight” proclaims, “You are girl for me.” A whole album of this might kill the novelty, so revere these five songs.
