Greg Screen started his project with Larry Schara on controls . . . Both Steve Sunner and Lance Drake did their mastering with Schara . . . Providence began tracking with engineer Aaron Govert . . . Just North mixed their current project with Andy Padayao.
Delmark Records studio engineer Eric Butkus began recording Spyder Monkey‘s debut EP at BLAM STUDIOS in Chicago.
The Stalin Brothers recorded their second CD at CRYSTALL RECORDERS in Lombard. Final mixes are being done, and a summer release is expected.
At THE I.V. LAB in Chicago The Von Bondies (Sire) were in the studio all April with producer Sean O’Keefe and engineer Chris Harden . . . Owner Manny Sanchez and Patrick Stump (Fall Out Boy) worked on remixes for Japanese band Chemistry (Sony Music Japan) . . . #Bumpus recorded with Harden engineering . . . Sunday Morning Chameleon recorded and mixed a song with Sanchez that will appear on the Wait Til This Year soundtrack.
The August recorded six tunes live at Jack And Lidia’s Resort in Lake Villa to be used for a sampler CD as well as Web site media.
LINDER AVENUE RECORDING has re-opened in Roselle as a commercial facility. The studio recently hosted hip-hop artists Seven-Sixx, who recorded a new EP, and Hypnotiq, who worked on a single. Owner/chief engineer Dom Palmisano oversaw both projects.
At MILLION YEN STUDIOS in Chicago, Local H compiled and mastered a collection of outtakes and demos for G&P Records . . . Rounder recording artists The Damnwells worked on new material . . . State & Madison recorded a five-song EP for Inject Entertainment Group . . . Cheap Trick mastered a song for the Japanese release of Rockford . . . The Collectors finished an EP . . . All sessions were engineered by Andy Gerber and assisted by Geoff Sabin.
At STUDIO VMR in Brookfield, producer Tommy Allsup (Willie Nelson, The Texas Playboys, Walter Brennan) worked with singer/guitarist Johnny Rogers. Owner Don Griffin engineered.
At STUDIOCHICAGO in Chicago, Frisbie finished their new album with producer Matt Thompson and engineer Dan Steinman . . . Mr. Blotto finished their new CD, Barlow Shanghi, which was tracked and mixed by Chuck Kawal and mastered by Al Ursini . . . Suffrajett completed mixing their forthcoming album for Cobra/Universal, due this fall; it was engineered by Patrick De La Garza.
At SOUNDSCAPE STUDIOS in Chicago, Hustle Period (Kanye West, Talib Kweli) co-CEO John Monopoly was in session producing new Hustle Period/Rawkus artist Naledge‘s new song “Mean & Viscous,” which features guest vocals by Lupe Fiasco . . . Owner Michael Kolar is completely remodeling SoundScape’s B Room; he will add a brand new Focusrite/ProTools mixing console.
At UP ON THE ROOF RECORDING in Lombard, artist/producer Wil Diaz, who recently returned from a pre-telecast performance at the Latin Billboard Music Awards, continued work on his upcoming Reggaeton project with guest singer Bianca Santiago, co-producer Carlos Claudio, and engineer Mark Blas . . . Blas also finished the latest album from rock quartet Handheld Suicide.
