Mumbling fourth from lonely man troubador.
Tim Howard the athlete is the towering American drafted to man the goal box for English soccer giants Manchester United. Taking his place on these shores is a singer-songwriter of a different persausion — softly spoken, insecure, independent. But the defining moment on the misleadingly titled Hell Train refers neither to U.S. nor U.K., but somewhere often considered a duchy of both. “A Canadian penny in your pocket,” Howard sings, casting the image of an object simultaneously useless and given to deception. If you’re the kind of person who passes such a thing on as U.S. currency, you need to listen to Hell Train and hear how fucked up you are.
