Joe’s Live Rosemont

KISS co-founding guitarist and vocalist Ace Frehley takes the stage at Joe’s Live in Rosemont on Friday, December 13, with openers Ladrone and Like It beginning at 7:30 PM.

Real rock fans know the history of this iconic guitar slinger. The former original lead guitarist for KISS (which he co-founded in 1973) has been delighting audiences for nearly a decade with his memorable solo shows, and you can be sure that you’ll hear plenty of KISS tunes as his setlist is more than half-filled with iconic Ace-led songs such as “Shock Me,” “Rocket Ride,” “Hard Times” and “Parasite.” Not to mention, he’s guaranteed to whip out a few tracks from his fantastic 1978 self-titled solo album, including “New York Groove,” “Rip it Out,” and “Snowblind.”

Frehley recently parted ways with his backing band and has replaced them with former members of Gene Simmon’s solo group, including bassist Philip Shouse, guitarist/vocalist Ryan Cook, guitarist/vocalist Jeremy Asbrock, and drummer Matt Starr.

Frehley recently completed work on Origins Vol. 2, the sequel to his 2016 collection of cover songs. With a tentative release date of early 2020, the album will feature guest appearances by Lita Ford (singing “Jumping Jack Flash”) and Cheap Trick’s Robin Zander (singing Humble Pie’s “30 Days In The Hole”).

Exclusive VIP and guitar signature packages are available for Ace’s show in Rosemont, which includes a meet and greet, personal photo, and more. And if you aren’t afraid to open up your wallet, you can get your guitar signed by Ace at an exclusivel guitar signing/meet and greet.

Ed Spinelli caputured “The Spaceman” at a sold-out Joe’s Live on Friday. Spinelli said Frehley ‘s band was especially tight and deep cuts from the very early days (“Watching You” and “She”) made the night complete for diehard KISS fans. All photos by Ed Spinelli.
