Iggy Pop decimated (figuratively, thankfully) the ornate, acoustically perfect Chicago Theater. As part of his Post Pop Depression tour, Pop also brought along a most decidedly white-hot backing band. Poaching members from Queens Of The Stone Age (Josh Homme, Dean Fertita, Michael Shuman), Arctic Monkeys (drummer Matt Helders) and bassist Matt Sweeny, he has assembled his most powerful band since playing with his seminal, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees The Stooges. IE photographer Curt Baran went into the night to assess the damage. To the best of our knowledge, he barely escaped injury. Here’s the view from the wreckage:
