Wow!! I was at the the show and as a Mc/Dj and Hip Hop head in general. I was blown away. I brought a freind along who never seen the Roots and was stunned at the fusion of live insturments and Hip Hop music. It was classic indeed. Im not sure where the reviewer, Rosalind Cummings-Yeates got her info but that Kool G Rap song was none other than "Men at work" from the "Road to Riches" LP. One of THE hardest rhymes to recite word for word. Black Thought KILLED it,also that 'mediocore" rapper from Detroit is 'Skillz" formerly "Mad Skillz" He has won more battles than Eminem and ghost wrtten for artist from Diddy to Jermaine Dupri. Maybe he was not as good as Black Thought ( few are) but heis far from mediocore. As many times as I have seen the Roots I can't recall them bringing a wack act with them. All and all a great show.

I'm sorry I missed this show. Golden era revivals can usually come off forced, but from your review, the Hip-Hop Honors acts seemed to get it right.
