The Click Five CD review

The Click Five
Greetings From Imbie House
(Lava)

In a couple weeks you might begin hearing about an all-female group called The Veronicas, who sound like a band of Avril Lavignes. The Click Five are their male counterparts.

Beyond preadolescent teen girls, there is no need for The Click Five. If anything, Greetings is an exercise for producer Mike Denneen and Fountains Of Wayne’s Adam Schlesinger. The former gets to try his hand at glossy pop rock, using Cheez-It approved effects and stacking layers like Mutt Lange at a wedding-cake convention. Schlesinger is simply slumming it; maybe he’s sleeping with one of The Click Five. It’s not an indictment of the “band,” but more a testament to their lack of personality. I hope there was at least a good laugh in the studio when “I’ll Take My Chances” was first introduced.

I think that The Click Five’s album, Greetings From Imrie House is great! A cool pop sound with great rhythms and really good to sing along to. Five stars!
